       Women's Ministries:
What is a Prayer Shawl? Throughout the ages, shawls have come to symbolize shelter, peace and spiritual sustenance. Since the inception of the Prayer shawl Ministry in 1998, the members of this ecumenical organization have lovingly donated their time and talents by creating hand-knitted and crocheted shawls for those in need. What started as a grass-roots movement has quickly grown into an international cause, with countless numbers of shawls being given to grateful recipients around the globe.

The Ministry's message of caring is simple, universal and enduring. And we have seen time and again that the creation and presentation of a prayer shawl, like all acts of generosity, enriches the giver as well as the recipient.

If you knit, crochet or would like to learn, join our new Prayer Shawl Ministry in the Lighthouse classroom on Friday, 9-12 noon. For more information, call Joyce Reeves 922-0106.

Men's Ministries:
Prayer Breakfast and Bible Study

All men are invited to fellowship, prayer and Bible study. They meet each Friday morning at 7:30 for breakfast at Debra's Restaurant. Call Jim Carnell (922-2401) for more information. LADIES ARE WELCOME.

Visitors' Center:
A Visitor Center, located in the foyer, is provided every Sunday morning following the worship service. A volunteer is at the table to greet visitors and give them a packet containing a free gift and valuable information concerning the church.

Children's Activities:
Our vision for the Children's Ministry is to partnership with the home and provide for preschool and school-age children an environment conducive to the growth of each child spiritually, emotionally, mentally, physically and socially in which he or she may experience worship, prayer and a growing knowledge of God and the Bible.

We want to help each  child (1) develop a Biblical sense of self-worth, to feel loved and wanted; (2) learn to show love, respect and acceptance of others while gaining independence; (3) know that God made the world and everything in it and that the Bible is His book of spiritual truth; (4) know that God sent His son Jesus to live on earth just as we do and to be our Savior.

These objectives will be taught through the use of activity areas incorporating art, books, pictures, home living, games, music, nature, puzzles, Bible stories, lesson activities, and Scripture memorization.

We use primarily Southern Baptist (Lifeway) literature. It is Bible based and planned for the growth and development of children, providing lessons and learning activities appropriate to each age.

All Stars for Jesus, for children K through 5th grade, meets on Wednesday evening from 5:15 to 7:15. The program correlates with the Jessieville school calendar. This program starts with a "kid-friendly" meal. The curriculum includes Bible study, Bible verse memorization, earning of awards, games, activities and crafts. Enrollment is required and transportation is available from home, the DeSoto games area, or the Boys and Girls Club.
